A unique handmade product from The West Coast of Scotland. KMR Candles are inspired by nature, love and laughter and would like to help the world shine a little brighter.
I started KMR candles, partly as a way of earning an income without having to leave my children with someone else and partly as a way of creating a candle that suited my own needs. As someone who has a number of allergies and also as an asthmatic I needed a non- toxic, clean burning candle. To that end, I've tried to create a candle range, using eco soya wax, that fitted the required criteria but also, looked pretty and would serve as a unique gift.
I work along side a great aromatherapist who provides me with the inspiration for my Ailment candles. Having worked, for a number of years, for a leading health store I have accumulated a lot of information and experience of the kinds of ailments that afflict people's lives and the treatments designed to help them survive the daily stresses of modern life. I have used this knowledge to create my Ailment candle range for Stress, Insomnia, Depression and Colds & Flu.
One of my favourites, has got to be the Loch Fyne, Oyster Shells. I recycle the oysters by the bag load, from Loch Fyne Oyster bar & restaurant. A lot of work goes into creating these little Oyster Shell tea-lights but the result is really worthwhile.
I know that everyone loves to have an oil burner. The eco soya wax gives maximum scent throw within minutes and so, as a labour of love, I have created my, MELT A HEART, wax melts, available, alongside my chocolate orange bar melt.
I'm a Glasgow native-turned-country girl, now living in Strachur, Argyll & Bute. I create my candles from a large workshop in my home, I have three beautiful kids, Kayci, Max and Ryan. KMR candles are also available at Fine retail outlines including, Button Nose Boutique - Oban, The Eco Health Store - Dunoon, Loch Fyne Oysters Gift Shop, Benmore Botanic Gardens gift shop. I also attend many exhibitions throughout the year, The Country Living Magazine, Crafts for Christmas at The SECC and hope to attend Girls Day out this year. I already have customers worldwide and have plans to expand my business internationally.
This is a photo of myself and youngest son Ryan hard at work, I must admit he is a great help.
